A galactic war begins at dawn. So tonight, they're going to party like it's 2020. Marcus Adams is ready to leave a brutal year behind. The pandemic shattered his first semester of college, and all he wants is one perfect night - a New Year's Eve with the people he loves before he turns twenty-one at midnight. But something feels off. Uninvited guests nudge the party toward chaos. Old tensions resurface. And Marcus, following instincts he doesn't fully understand, makes a split-second decision that puts him at the center of a confrontation no one saw coming. Then the sky changes. An unidentified object appears overhead. An artificial intelligence interrupts every screen on Earth. The message is simple and impossible: friendly extraterrestrials have arrived. A rival alien force is coming to enslave the planet. And Marcus is central to humanity's survival. By the time the sun rises on January 1st, the world Marcus knew will be gone. The only question left is whether the AI claiming he's special can be trusted - or whether his friends are right to fear that the real invasion has already begun. Welcome to Zero Day. Disclosure is the opening chapter of the Subsumption series - a recursive first-contact sci-fi technothriller that unfolds over a single night and ends with Earth irrevocably changed.
