About

It's time again to pull back the curtain on personal finance stories from the people who shape the markets.

In How I Invest My Money: Volume Two, a new group of financial experts–from portfolio managers and financial advisors to fintech founders and thought leaders–offer candid insights into their personal financial decisions. They challenge conventional wisdom, reflect on risks taken and rewards earned, and reveal how their strategies have evolved over time. Returning voices from Volume One also share how they manage their own money today: What's changed, what still works, and the lessons they've learned along the way.

What emerges is a powerful reminder: everyone manages money differently. And that our ultimate "benchmark" for success is never a market index. It is executing a financial plan that aligns with your values, goals, and a life of contentment and purpose.
Brian Portnoy, Ph.D., CFA, is the founder and CEO of Shaping Wealth, the global wealth industry's premier learning platform for human-first financial guidance, and an author of multiple bestselling books on the psychology of money, including The Geometry of Wealth. Brian coaches financial advisors and investors worldwide on the intersection of human behavior and financial planning, tackling topics ranging from decision-making to emotional intelligence to how money fits into a meaningful life.

Brian previously worked in the hedge fund and mutual fund industries as investor, researcher, and educator. He serves on the Ambassador's Council of the Alliance for Decision Education, is a CFA Charterholder, and earned his doctorate at the University of Chicago and undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan. He was the co-author of How I Invest My Money alongside Joshua M. Brown. What people really want to know is not what people advise to do with money, but what the professionals actually do with their own money–HIIMM reveals all.
