Seven college friends. One stunning lakehouse. A weekend reunion that ends in murder…
The email arrives at 2.47 pm on an overcast October afternoon. An invite to a reunion at a luxurious, isolated lakeside house. It's from Lexie, my ex-fiancée. The first contact we've had in three years, since she ripped my heart out with a single text message. Why is she back?
My wife, Serena, insists we go. She and Lexie were best friends once, and I can tell she's worried about her reappearance. But Serena's strong, she won't show weakness or allow Lexie to destroy the perfect life we've built. I'm not as confident. I can't help but wonder if Lexie shares some of my regrets.
But as we gather with our friends to party on the deck, old resentments and ugly secrets immediately start to bubble up, and tensions are running high by the time we finally stumble to bed.
And the next morning, there is a body floating in the dark water…
A dark, deadly story that will consume you until the final perfect twist. Fans of Lucy Foley, Ruth Ware and Alice Feeney will be hooked.
