From Albert Payson Terhune - famed novelist, journalist, and breeder of collies at his real-life Sunnybank Kennels - comes this treasured collection of eight dog stories. The title tale follows Buff, an unusual crossbreed collie born on Shawemere Farm, as he grows from an unpromising puppy into a dog of remarkable courage, eventually helping to clear his master's name after a theft. The stories that follow - "Something," "Chums," "Human-Interest Stuff," "One Minute Longer," "The Foul Fancier," "The Grudge," and "The Sunnybank Collies" - expand on themes of devotion, heroism, and the deep bond between dogs and the humans who love them. Written in the early 20th century by one of America's most cherished chroniclers of collie life, this collection remains a heartfelt classic for dog lovers and fans of old-fashioned American storytelling alike.
