The unnamed Mortimer, the king of the Grim Reapers, tells the story of how he promised to protect the son of a friend who died long before the Magicians came out. He appears to him as a friend when the son's relatives die at their funeral, and as a friend when he needs one. He becomes the ultimate Memento Mori. An adventure of a lifetime.
