THE NEIGHBORS begins in a modern neighborhood where folks live next door to one another without knowing each other's names. Abby and Vic are an older couple who value quietness and solitude. Abby is annoyed when the boy two houses from them takes out his frustration by hitting a tennis ball against the outside wall of the next door neighbor's house.
Their opinion of him is low until a chain of events begin to unfold. In this touching Christmas story, the annoying boy takes a liking to them and begins to call them Grandma and Grandpa in replacement for the grandparents who show no interest in him. Another neighbor helps Vic unload groceries when Abby returns from shopping and is too ill to manage the task.. As the neighbors are drawn together, hearts are healed and two romances bloom. In a cascading effect, residents of the cul-de-sac not only get to know one another, but become like family.
