Retired drummer Adam Parrall is having a morning to remember-for all the wrong reasons. A hearse has mysteriously appeared outside his vinyl record store in the sleepy town of Cordoba in California. And when the police force open a door, Adam gets the shock of his life: the dead body of elderly Celia Effers is in the back seat.
Adam quickly learns that Celia-also known as "Effing Effers"-was universally disliked, a public menace and chronic complainer accused of everything from refusing to pay her hairdresser to dog poisoning. With so many suspects, Adam finds himself drawn into helping detectives catch a killer. But who had a big enough grudge against Celia to silence her for good?
An irresistibly charming cozy mystery series featuring a retired drummer seeking to recapture the excitement of his rock band heyday by solving crime. A page-turning must-read for fans of M.C. Beaton, Richard Osman and J.M. Hall!
