About

All the Rivers Run is the third novel in The Envoy of the Nile, a Christian historical-fiction mystery series set in the first-century world of Africa and the Mediterranean.
Simeon of Mero arrives in Alexandria on an official trade mission for the Kandake of Kush. The great port city is still wounded by recent violence between Jewish and Greek Alexandrians, and its Jewish-Christian community is struggling to survive beneath Roman scrutiny.

When Gentile believers begin disappearing from the city's house churches, Simeon discovers that the danger does not come only from hostile crowds or Roman officials. A hidden campaign within the community itself is using religious language, merchant influence, work restrictions, and river routes to pressure the vulnerable into leaving quietly.
His most important ally is Miriam bat Ezra, a brilliant Jewish scholar whose careful reading of letters, ledgers, and marginal notes reveals how fear has been turned into policy. Together with Simeon's young assistant, Toma, they follow a trail from synagogue courts and harbor offices to warehouses, lake routes, and the private accounts of powerful patrons.
As witnesses emerge and the evidence grows, Simeon must confront a painful question: can a community wounded by persecution welcome those it has learned to fear? The answer will cost reputations, protection, livelihood, and the false peace built on other people's silence.

Set amid Alexandria's crowded Jewish quarter, markets, archives, docks, and Nile trade routes, All the Rivers Run is a story of courage, belonging, truth, and the costly work of refusing to let anyone disappear.
