About

Some days, hope feels like a foreign language. You wake up to a world where depression has flattened the color and anxiety keeps you circling the same old fears at two in the morning. In the middle of the shadows, it is easy to wonder if God still sees you. You may feel as if you are supposed to have it all together, or that your faith should have fixed the struggle by now. But the weight of despair is heavy, and sometimes a whole chapter of scripture feels like too much to carry.
You are not broken, and you are never alone. Pastors Sarah Griffith Lund and Chad Abbott have walked these same valleys. They understand the intersection where mental health and faith meet, and they know that needing help is never a spiritual failure. They have created a gentle resource for anyone who needs a hand to hold during the long night.
Blessed Hope offers ninety short, honest devotions built for your hardest days. Each entry pairs a single sacred word with a scripture verse, a real story from life, and a prayer you can whisper even when you lack your own words. This is a daily practice for rebuilding hope one small, faithful step at a time. Reclaim your birthright to hope and remember that you are loved exactly as you are. Sarah Griffith Lund is passionate about loving her family, God, and being part of faith communities. She is an ordained minister and has served as pastor to churches in Brooklyn, NY, Minneapolis, MN, and New Smyrna Beach, FL. Rev. Dr. Lund served as Regional Minister in the Florida Conference of the United Church of Christ and as a Vice President for Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, IN. She holds degrees from Trinity University (BA), Princeton Theological Seminary (MDiv), Rutgers University (MSW), and McCormick Theological Seminary (DMin). Rev. Dr. Lund received the Dell Award for Mental Health Education at the 30th General Synod of the UCC. She currently serves as Minister for Disabilities and Mental Health Justice on the national staff of the UCC and as senior pastor of First Congregational UCC of Indianapolis, IN. Rev. Dr. Lund blogs at www.sarahgriffithlund.com.

Rev. Dr. Chad Abbott is the conference minister in the Indiana-Kentucky Conference of the United Church of Christ. His previous books focus on creativity and discernment in congregations.
