This book tells the story of how my family came to own the whale's back in the early 1920s. It all started with Rosie's grandmother & her 3 kids renting a place only to find it was a lobster shack when they arrived. The events leading up to the purchase of the whale's back & construction of the first cottage will help you understand life on the Island (especially in the winter) on the island.
