Ghostline was created to operate in the shadows. Now the shadows are spreading. 1985 Benjamin Cole and the eleven men of Ghostline have survived selection, betrayal, and missions that were never supposed to exist. They are no longer learning how to become operators. They are becoming very good at being ghosts. But success has consequences. What begins as a campaign against cartel networks draws Ghostline into something far larger. Money, intelligence, Soviet influence, and narcotics are flowing through the same hidden channels, connecting Central America, Mexico, Cuba, Colombia, and the Caribbean. Someone is building a system. And every time Ghostline cuts one of its arteries, someone on the other side learns from the wound. From clandestine operations in Mexico City to the streets of Havana and the jungles of Central America, Cole and his team are pushed farther from anything resembling conventional warfare. Their enemies are adapting. Moscow is watching. The cartels are studying the patterns. And Washington keeps giving Ghostline more latitude. For Cole, another danger is emerging. The twelve men around him have become more than a team. They are brothers-the only people who understand the strange world they now inhabit. But Cole is beginning to recognize something he cannot solve with a rifle or a mission plan. They are changing. So is he. And somewhere beneath the operations, politics, money, and blood lies a current pulling all of them toward something much larger than the war they thought they were fighting. Ghostline can feel it. Their enemies can feel it too. The board is getting bigger. The enemy is learning. And the war beneath the surface has just begun. Dark Currents is Book Three of The Ghostline Series, continuing Benjamin Cole's journey through the covert battlefields of the Cold War as twelve young men discover that becoming the most dangerous weapon in America's arsenal may be easier than surviving what it turns them into.
