A galaxy on the brink. An enemy that can't be stopped. And a trusted ally who might be the greatest threat of all.Five years into his career as an Excalibur Knight, Nate Arturi has saved planets, torched Synth swarms, and survived more near-death experiences than he cares to count. He's gotten pretty good at this. He thought he understood the stakes. He was wrong. Now, even with the Merlin returned to the front lines, the Synth swarms are multiplying faster than the Alliance can contain them. The Merlin's orders are growing harder to trust, and Ex -- the ancient alien intelligence inextricably bonded to Nate -- is changing in ways that terrify him. Something is happening to his oldest ally. Something that, if left unchecked, might not just destroy Ex. It might destroy everything.Desperate for answers the Alliance won't give him, Nate makes a choice that puts him crosswise with the Knights themselves -- chasing a lead behind enemy lines where the secrets he uncovers will shake everything he thought he knew about the war, the darkness at the heart of it all, and how much of himself he's willing to sacrifice to stop it.Darkest Knight is the biggest, most emotionally charged chapter in the Excalibur Knights Saga yet. Perfect for fans of soaring space opera, Arthurian legend, and characters that'll keep you flipping pages past two in the morning.
