Erkül Bwaroo is an elf. Nothing unusual about that.
He also happens to be a private detective. Not just any private detective, but the most brilliant, and, naturellement, the best-dressed one in the elven kingdom. Probably in any kingdom.
The elf with the impressive moustache and distinctive French accent is summoned by seven dwarves to investigate the death of a beautiful princess. Everyone - including the police -assumes it was an accident. But not the dwarves. Their beautiful princess was undoubtedly murdered. What's more, they know who the culprit must have been: none other than the princess's wicked stepmother. But how can they prove it?
Erkül Bwaroo is soon convinced that the puzzle is a worthy challenge for his 'little grey cells'. However, there is rarely only one suspect in a case. Indeed, Erkül Bwaroo suspects everyone - and he suspects no-one.
There is not a second to lose. Murders often do not happen in isolation. Can he solve the case before anyone else meets an unfortunate end? Will his elegant patent leather shoes survive the rigours of trudging through the forest? With his steadfast butler Weisman at his side providing the right beverage for every occasion and an all-knowing objectivity in his observations, the detective's 'little grey cells' set about their task.
This book is a humorous homage to a great English crime writer and her famous Belgian detective. Erkül Bwaroo is an elf detective with a magnificent moustache, impeccable manners, and an alarming talent for finding trouble. While most elves rely on magic, Erkül prefers logic, deduction, and a good cup of tea. Armed with a sharp eye for clues and a healthy dose of stubbornness, he investigates mysteries among humans and magical folk alike-usually while trying to keep everyone else from making a complete mess of things.
