Dictated by the spirit Lucius to the medium Zibia Gasparetto, Everything has Its Price explores ambition, betrayal, and the inescapable law of cause and effect. Marcelo is a kind-hearted young man who repeatedly suffers humiliation due to his inability to set boundaries, especially with his manipulative, ambitious girlfriend, Mirtes. Seeking wealth and status at any cost, Mirtes abandons Marcelo and eventually marries Humberto, a wealthy older widower, ruthlessly dismissing her humble family and the true values of the soul.
Meanwhile, her sister Alzira, who is hardworking and sincere, takes an office job at a major company and wins the heart of its wealthy owner, Valdo, proving that integrity and pure energy attract true happiness. Guided by the enlightened spiritual teacher Émerson, Marcelo also learns to value himself, ultimately finding true, balanced love with a young woman named Renata.
Tragedy strikes when Mirtes's pursuit of luxury triggers the jealousy of Humberto's discarded mistress, Mercedes, who hires a professional hitman to murder the young bride. Violently cast into the spiritual world, Mirtes's soul is consumed by a desire for revenge. She torments her murderers until she is finally rescued by beings of light. Through a painful awakening in a spiritual Transit House, she discovers the karmic roots of her suffering-revealing a past life of crime and betrayal-and learns that true wealth is spiritual. A profound Spiritist novel about forgiveness, justice, and the heavy price we pay for our choices.
