Does God care about combat veterans? This book is the author's effort to show that God does care, and that He is always working to vie us healing and a meaningful life. Freedom Bird challenges the political, emotional, and irrational climate that surrounded the Vietnam War. The author aims to have readers see the failure of human endeavors that leave the counsel of God out of the picture. This is contrasted with the difference that God's grace, love, and wisdom can make in a veteran's life and destiny. The author's life story also raises some questions about war such as- • What were we fighting for in Vietnam? • Did politicians lack the will to win this war? • Was there any exit strategy before going into this war? • Do people today understand what soldiers experienced in the midst of guerrilla warfare in the jungle of South Vietnam against an enemy that was committed to outlasting the USA's resolve?
