From the Fire

Women are dying in house fires. Gabi Rivera suspects the flames are hiding the cause of death.
An Iraq veteran and experienced detective, Gabi knows how much a burned crime scene can conceal. As she reconstructs the victims' final days, small discrepancies begin connecting deaths that had been investigated separately.
Former Army criminal investigator Danny Vasquez recognizes details that bring him back to an unresolved death in Iraq. His knowledge could help Gabi find the killer, but his connection to the past also puts him under scrutiny.
Working through damaged records, frightened witnesses, and memories neither has fully confronted, Gabi and Danny uncover connections spanning more than twenty years. She'll have to follow the evidence even when it leads toward a man she's beginning to trust.
