RESTORING THE LOST ART OF MOURNING
What if grief is not something to overcome?
What if grief is love asking to be witnessed?
After losing her son to suicide just days before his twenty-first birthday, her father to a heart attack, and her son-in-law to cancer, Freyja Inanna found herself confronting the same question that millions of grieving people face:
How do we continue loving when the person we love is gone?
In Grief As Praise: A Surrender Into Love, registered nurse, psychosomatic therapist, grief guide, and ritual practitioner Freyja Inanna offers a deeply compassionate approach to grief recovery, bereavement support, emotional healing, and spiritual transformation.
Drawing upon more than two decades of professional experience and profound personal loss, this book moves beyond conventional grief models to explore mourning as a sacred expression of love rather than a problem to be fixed.
• Practical grief recovery tools for navigating loss and bereavement
• Guidance for child loss grief, suicide loss, perinatal loss, pet loss, anticipatory grief, and complicated grief
• Somatic grief healing practices designed to release grief stored within the body
• Spiritual healing approaches rooted in ritual, remembrance, and ancestral wisdom
• Breathwork, journaling exercises, movement practices, and grief ceremonies
• Support for identity loss, estrangement, addiction-related grief, and non-death losses
• Trauma-informed strategies for emotional healing and resilience
• Insights into grief support, mourning, and companioning others through loss
• A powerful new perspective that transforms grief from suffering into praise
Unlike many grief books that focus on moving on, Grief As Praise teaches readers how to move forward while remaining deeply connected to the love that continues to live within them.
Whether you are grieving the loss of a child, coping with suicide loss, mourning the death of a loved one, navigating bereavement, or seeking a deeper spiritual understanding of grief, this book offers a compassionate companion for the journey.
