Grounded in Greater A Faith-Informed Approach to K-12 Education and Beyond By Amy Tepper, Ed.D. and Amy L. Vaughn, Ph.D.
Feeling disenfranchised with the current state of education in America today? Are you sick and tired of not having a voice at the table? Do you wish there was an impactful way for you personally to act no longer alone and to be part of real change?
Drs. Amy Tepper and Amy Vaughn wrote Grounded in Greater as a means to challenge the status quo of commonplace practices and one-size-fits-all standards inherent to the veritably monolithic institution of education. Loosely based on a set of universally recognized principles, Grounded in Greater provides readers with:
• a comprehensive philosophical/theoretical framework that underpins the need to move beyond school reformation at the national level towards institutional transformation at the local level • a series of vignettes to highlight the authors' actionable model for school transformation, based on and aligned with their theoretical framework, known as "One-to-One Schools and Communities Together!" • a unique approach to define and track individual and collective successes known as "The Power of One" • a thought-provoking set of five (5) group discussion questions, as well as a challenging set of five (5) individual/group extension activities included at the conclusion of each chapter
Grounded in Greater provides all stakeholders (i.e., parents, community members, education professionals, etc.) with the knowledge and skills and more importantly, the agency to reinvent K-12 education and beyond purposefully; to be part of the solution.
