He came to the Cook Islands to hide. She came to chase a dream. But neither expected to share a room…Daniel Jones was once Britain's golden boy-an Olympic sprinter with the world at his feet. Now, injured, burned out, and fleeing relentless headlines, he's escaped to a tiny South Pacific island to lick his wounds in peace. The last thing he wants is company-especially not a relentlessly cheerful American woman and her toddler accidentally installed in his honeymoon bungalow.Libby Jones (no relation, thank goodness!) is sunshine wrapped in red lipstick and determination. A single mom chasing a second chance, she's come to Rarotonga to build a future for herself and her son-armed with big dreams, shaky finances, and absolutely no time for grumpy, limping ex-sports heroes who snap before saying hello.Thrown together by a booking mix-up, a stormy night, and one very inconvenient king-sized bed, Dan and Libby strike an unlikely friendship. Walls soon begin to crumble. Sparks fly. Lines blur. And what starts as reluctant roommates turns into something neither of them planned for-or want to leave behind...Set against turquoise waters, warm island nights, and the magic of starting over, His Cook Islands Roommate is a heart-warming grumpy-sunshine romance about healing, hope, and finding love in the most unexpected place… just when you need it most.Perfect for fans of forced proximity, friends-with-benefits tension, and happily-ever-afters with a tropical twist.Author's Note: Grump-Sunshine. Friends-with-Benefits. Kindhearted souls. Stunning tropical island scenery. Strong, independent heroine. Cute two year old. Occasional F-bombs. Pace: Zippy, with a few twists along the way. Steam Level: Hot with a purpose. Feels: ALL.OF.THEM.This 90,000 word novel can be enjoyed as a stand-alone or as part of Giulia Skye's interconnected Take a Holiday series. Italian-born Giulia Skye spent her childhood watching classic Hollywood films and thinking up her own romantic stories. After two decades working in TV production, she knew turning those stories into novels would be much more enjoyable than turning them into films. She still keeps her hand in TV production but is at her happiest being a stay-at-home mum, growing her own vegetables, and conjuring up sizzling stories about sexy heroes meeting feisty heroines who aren't always as they at first appear. Feel-good, page-turning romances written with fun and escapism in mind!
Can be enjoyed as standalones as part of an interconnected series.
