"If my life was a poker hand, I was dealt a pair of fours. I was convinced I could bluff my way to a win."
In I'm Up to Something: STEM Taught Me, we are invited into the ever-expanding world of author Bartholomew Perez. In his memoir we see behind the scenes of our multi-faceted author as he discovers what it means to be a first-generation Latino defining success. Adversity and the curse of imposter syndrome are prominent themes throughout the book but so are creativity, hope, and a healthy dose of ingenuity.
Bartholomew shows us the skills necessary for catapulting into success no matter what field we decide to pursue. Readers will share in the defining moments of his life, and learn about the support networks he found or created. We see him • sell Pokémon cards at eight • head to university at seventeen, and • kick off a whirlwind career in engineering and real estate
He shows us that no matter what the circumstances we to can be up to something!
