신약전서 전권을 영어와 한국어로 나란히-절마다 짝지어. 고전 킹제임스 성경과 이 판을 위하여 킹제임스 본문에서 새로 옮긴 한국어 번역을 두 단으로 배열하고, 원본 강판화 63점과 스무 쪽 남짓의 한국어 서문을 실었습니다. A new Korean translation of the New Testament, made directly from the English King James Version and printed alongside it, verse by verse. This edition adds 63 original engraved plates and a new 20-page introduction written in Korean-the history of the King James Version, of the New Testament and of the Greek it was written in, and a plain account of what this book is and is not. The Korean text in this edition is not a reprint. It was translated for this book from the King James text itself-all 27 books, 7,957 verses-and the copyright in it is held by the publisher. The translation deliberately uses formal literary Korean (문어체), with the archaic verb endings-느니라,-니라,-도다 and-ㄹ지어다. The facing column is seventeenth-century English; a modern conversational Korean would clash with it in tone. Because the translation follows the King James text rather than the Greek, it also renders in full those verses which modern versions omit-among them 1 John 5:7, John 5:4 and Acts 8:37. In this edition:
For Korean-English bilingual families and churches, Korean readers of English scripture, students of either language, and anyone who wants the King James text with a Korean rendering made to match its register.
