Few verses in the Bible have been quoted more-or understood less well-than Jesus' promise in John 10:10. Prosperity preachers have used it to promise financial abundance. Others have reduced it to a future reward waiting beyond death. Neither reading does justice to what John actually wrote. This book traces the theme of life through the whole of John's gospel-from the Prologue's declaration that "in him was life" to the final invitation to believe and receive. What emerges is a portrait of abundant life that is more demanding and more glorious: relational rather than transactional, present rather than merely future, and shaped by the cross that makes it possible. Life to the full has already begun.
