From Summer Stage national bestselling author Meg Mitchell Moore comes a sparkling novel following a young woman entwined in the opulent lives of her neighbors on Block Island, set against a backdrop of scandal, secrets, and a not-so-subtle love triangle, perfect for readers of Pineapple Street and Sex and Vanity.
It's the start of the summer, and Nicola Carr has just arrived on Block Island. Her failed relationship and soul-crushing job back in Providence have left her yearning for a fresh start, which she finds in the form of a tiny rental cottage and an internship as a marine wildlife researcher. Nicola's tranquil summer takes an unexpected turn as the extravagant parties from the grand home next door pique her curiosity. She soon discovers the home belongs to Juliana George, an enigmatic entrepreneur with a past shrouded in mystery.
Juliana George, CEO and founder of a hot fashion-tech company, is at the top of her game. Preparing for a major IPO, she's spending the summer on Block Island to focus on and build buzz for her company. But she's chasing her dreams in more ways than one. This summer she hopes to rekindle a flame with a man from her past-a man who has a surprising connection to her neighbor Nicola.
Taylor Buchanan, the wife of Nicola's cousin, is second-in-command of a real estate empire. Her life is exactly the way she planned it: she has the wealth, the family, the prestige, and the power. And there's nothing she'll let get in her way of Having It All. But when everything suddenly verges on the edge of collapse, she has no choice but to take matters into her own hands.
As Nicola, Juliana, and Taylor's summers unfold, the three women are set on a collision course that leads to unexpected self-discovery, unforgivable betrayal, an unavoidable love triangle-and an inevitable dead body.
A sophisticated escapist novel filled with light humor and surprising observations, Mansion Beach explores the depth of human relationships, our cruelly classist society, and the price of secrets that refuse to stay buried.
"Those who like their beach books with a lot of drama will find what they're looking for-and then some. Summer Stage is best enjoyed for its setting (in its varied loveliness Block Island becomes almost another character), for its observations about the changing nature of fame, and for its occasional sly commentary." - Wall Street Journal
"My favorite beach reads are written by Meg Mitchell Moore, and Summer Stage is her brand new smash hit. If you like my books, you'll love this!" - Elin Hilderbrand
"Meg Mitchell Moore kept me flipping pages late into the night in a new novel about the fleeting nature of notoriety, the darker side of fame, and how, sometimes, simply saying yes can change our lives in the most unexpected ways. Summer Stage is a five-star novel that deserves a standing ovation! And Meg Mitchell Moore has a permanent place on my list of favorite authors." - Kristy Woodson Harvey, New York Times bestselling author of The Summer of Songbirds
"Moore brings summer theatre to life in her sparkling latest. The relationships feel real and engaging, and the dialogue is sharp and snappy, with smart writing that examines familial relationships with insight and aplomb. This one's equally charming and satisfying." - Publishers Weekly (starred review) on Summer Stage
"Moore has created a story that unfolds much like a hot summer day at the beach-slow and languid and spiced up with a bit of drama. A light beach read that also examines the benefits and costs of celebrity." - Kirkus Reviews on Summer Stage
