Mars

Humanity's greatest adventure is about to begin. IN Volant Legacy: Mars, Samuel Don Smith continues the journey of Kevin Connor and Janice as they move beyond the Moon toward the first human mission to Mars. With the Phoenix mission, humanity faces extraordinary challenges involving spacecraft technology, survival, and the dream of establishing a sustainable Martian colony. As mission planners confront the critical need for water, the crew must navigate complex engineering problems, uncertain risks, and the immense difficulties of surviving on another planet. An ambitious drilling project could transform Mars into a more habitable world, opening the door to future colonies and changing humanity's place in the universe.
But scientific ambition is only part of the story. Secret government plans, advanced technology, mysterious extraterrestrial Visitors, and competing interests add further complexity to the mission. Through it all, Kevin and his fellow explorers must rely on teamwork, careful planning, courage, and sound judgment to face the unknown. Combining space exploration, scientific speculation, suspense, and human relationships, Volant Legacy: Mars explores the possibilities and risks of humanity's next great leap into space. The journey to Mars is more than an expedition. It is a bold step toward humanity's future among the stars.
