In this book, readers learn what the calendar measures and why knowing how to measure days, weeks, months, and years is important. They learn the history of the lunar and solar calendars, how days and months get their names, and the different calendars around the world. Students can easily find these answers and many more by measuring. Knowing how to find length, time, and temperature helps kids every day. This series shows youngsters how measuring can help them make sense of their world. Additional features to aid comprehension include a table of contents, a phonetic glossary, informative captions, sources for further research, an index, and an introduction to the author and illustrator.
