Madelyn Hollenbeck was destined for success-an Ivy League student on a full scholarship, focused and fiercely driven. Until one terrifying night when everything changes.
She drops out of college without a word of explanation, abandoning her future and hiding a horrific secret she refuses to face. Months pass, and Madelyn struggles to find purpose in her shattered life.
Then, in a most unusual way, fate provides an answer.
On page 23 of a horror novel purchased at a church rummage sale, she finds a three-word message scrawled in what seems to be dried blood. Reaching the unsettling conclusion that the scrawled message is real despite no one else believing in what she's found, Madelyn starts a frantic solo quest that will lead her into a web of buried secrets and unspeakable crimes.
Through the shadowy depths of a scandalized Catholic Church and down the lonely backroads of Upstate New York, Madelyn's pursuit inevitably crosses paths with those who have their own dark secrets…and are willing to kill to keep them.
A heart-pounding debut crime thriller sure to keep readers on the edge of their seats!
