Question to Infantino is a short yet powerful novella about grief, justice, football/soccer, and power. At its heart is a young man driven by a single, seemingly small injustice: a goal that should have been counted but never was. When referees, officials, and institutions refuse to listen, his frustration turns into resolve. With no faith left in official channels, he embarks on a personal and symbolic quest to reach Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA.
What begins as an obsession with a lost goal gradually expands into a profound exploration of modern football and the systems that govern it. The journey exposes a world shaped by distance, hierarchy, and unaccountable power, where decisions made far from the pitch ripple down into individual lives. Along the way, the protagonist is forced to confront not only the structures of global football, but also his own grief, values, and need for justice.
Both intimate and political, Question to Infantino moves between tenderness and brutality, combining lyrical prose with sharp moral inquiry. It is a love letter to soccer as a shared human experience, while also offering a clear-eyed reflection on how money, authority, and silence shape the game today. Through its fictional narrative, the novella raises urgent questions about legitimacy, responsibility, and influence at the highest levels of international sport.
Ultimately, this is a story about questioning power - on the field and beyond it - and about what happens when ordinary voices refuse to accept decisions simply because they come from above. If you could ask Gianni Infantino just one question, what would it be?
