Drawing on behavioural economics, decades of market history, and his own honest accounting of his mistakes, Michel Ingenbleek argues that the durable edge in investing is not better information, faster signals, or sharper models. It is knowing your own wiring, applied steadily over time.

Across thirteen chapters, the book moves from the wiring of the investing mind, through the arenas where that wiring meets reality (bubbles, panics, narratives, false certainty), to the practical architecture that protects the long-term investor from themselves: written theses, cognitive guardrails, the behavioural margin of safety, and the inner scorecard.

At the centre is a concept of the author's own: the behavioural margin of safety, an extension of Benjamin Graham's classic idea into the psychological domain. Where Graham asked what price protects you from being wrong about a business, this book asks what structures protect you from being wrong about yourself.

Written for serious long-term investors, allocators and advisers, Staying Intact is not a trading manual and not a self-help book. Mastery, it argues, is not about being right. It is about staying in the game long enough for being right to matter.
