About

On the Julian date of February 11, 1731, George Washington was born. On the day George Washington was born approximately sixty other babies were born in Virginia; Washington's birthday would not become a special day until Washington became special many years later. If one considers Washington's life to be one of the many thousands of threads that make up the tapestry of the birth of the United States, that thread, consisting of fibers from its preceding (ancestral) threads, blends in perfectly with the other threads for nearly two-thirds of its length before it stands out. Tapestry: Three Rivers is the first volume in a series dedicated to the unheralded threads of history without which the more salient threads, such as George Washington, would be just as unremarkable. Written as interconnecting short stories, the Tapestry series blurs the distinction between fact and fiction as the authors incorporate members of real family trees as characters in their stories. Mysteries abound as tales of romance, comedy, irony, and secrecy, are touched by the supernatural and by a perpetually ageless rich man who frequently appears in many guises throughout the series. With this first volume, Tapestry: Three Rivers, the countdown to the last generation of this era begins.
