The Awakening

Some inherit land. Summer Rose inherited a threshold. When Summer Rose follows her adoptive mother's final instructions to a hidden lake, she expects answers, an inheritance, and maybe the truth behind a lifetime of silence.Instead, she finds a house that knows her, lights moving across the water like warnings, and a legacy powerful enough to wake things best left sleeping.Guarded by Nyx, the great black wolf who has protected her since childhood, Summer must uncover what Mama Ellen died trying to protect before ancient forces decide her future for her.Because the lake has been waiting. The house is listening. And Summer is not simply inheriting a home. She is awakening to the truth that she may be the only thing standing between this world and the one trying to break through. Ciana is a Southern girl. She loves sweet tea, peach cobbler, collard greens, fried green tomatoes, cornbread, and about every fruit you can name, particularly those she can pick off of a bush or a tree and eat on the spot. She's spent her life with her one true love, raising a family, and a horde of animals over the years, and has enjoyed every moment. Once she was a full time mom, a softball coach, a book cover designer, and an art director. Now, she's retired, living the dream on The Lake of Whispering Lights with her "Honey Man", two dogs and a cat, spending her days gardening, playing outside, creating art and dreaming up new stories. You can find Ciana's books at all major book retailers in ebook, print and audio.
