In Recife and Olinda, Gabe investigates carnival traditions, frevo, giant puppets, neighborhood routes, and the work that allows public celebration to preserve local identity. Bela is bold, funny, politically sharp, and certain that nobody gets to call a living community colorful while ignoring who builds, carries, repairs, and remembers. A performance-route Crossing leads toward names, warnings, and protected identities hidden inside costume lineages, parade structures, and children's rehearsal paths. As the family draws closer than ever to the truth behind Sol's disappearance, they must decide whether preservation can become theft - and whether the next answer should be followed, protected, or returned.
