Love in the Time of Caller ID Jackie Paper is a hot shot developer who hopes to strike it rich when he creates a wildly popular music sharing app. What his investors don't know, and what our hero can't confess, is that his program is also a means of contacting extraterrestrials. Jackie is sure they are out there. Waiting for our call. The Empty Spaces may be considered "start-up fiction." It is a novel that connects the business of chocolate with the pervasiveness of smartphones, their link with marijuana, a failed IPO, songs from The Beatles and dashed hopes of becoming president. And aliens. Brian S Hall is a writer and technology analyst. He is an expert on how smartphones and the mobile web are remaking markets, industries, communities and lives around the world. No person on Earth writes more about smartphones. "The Empty Spaces" is his first novel.
