Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. - John 3:4 (KJV)
Everyone does things contrary to the laws of God. And when we do, it makes God angry. As a result, He chastises us and is reluctant to answer our prayers. So, it is vital to eradicate sin from our lives to draw closer to Him. But how may this be accomplished? If you were physically sick, you would go to a doctor and get a prescription to cure you. Well, sin is also a sickness. It is a sickness of the soul. And to remove it, the Kolinahr Discipline can be applied. This discipline is derived from an acronym based on the word repent: R-E-P-E-N-T. Each letter represents a corresponding step in the process and must be religiously followed for the procedure to work properly. Here is the discipline in summary form.
R - Recognize and acknowledge your sin. This step must be taken first. E - Examine yourself to determine the effect that this sin is having on you. P - Prepare for the Devil's attack and Pray to eliminate all his temptations. E - Eliminate the worldly sources of temptation that tend to produce this sin. N - Never do it again! This is a long-term goal to keep this sin from returning. T - Turn it over to the Lord and Thank Him for His deliverance.
In this book, each step of this six-step process is explained in detail, along with examples to illustrate each step. After the last step, the remaining portion of the book is devoted to various case studies involving the manner in which this discipline may be applied to remove specific types of sin. The Kolinahr Discipline encompasses an exclusively unique metonymy that unveils the theme that is portrayed throughout the entire book - that of repentance. The sagacious incorporation of relevant science fiction analogies to aid in the understanding of the advanced hermeneutical concepts furnishes rock-solid examples of the use of this method when grappling with a spiritual debacle that has been challenging mankind ever since the beginning of time - how to overcome "the sin which doth so easily beset us.
" Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, - Hebrews 12:1 (KJV)
