The Last Cart Through Widow's Cut
A Standalone Fantasy Siege Thriller
R. StanekSeries: Magic Lands: Stories From Beyond the Path(0)
About
Rellan knows carts.
He knows when an axle will fail, how a load will shift, what a rope can hold, and exactly how much punishment a wheel can take before it becomes firewood.
He does not know how to win a sword fight.
That becomes a problem when the last caravan enters Widow's Cut.
Raiders close from above. Hooks tear at moving carts. Animals panic. Wheels fail. The narrow road gives them nowhere to turn - and someone inside the caravan may be helping the attackers.
Beside Rellan is Calden, a chained prisoner nobody quite trusts and nobody can afford to ignore.
Ahead lies a quarry, a cliff road, old machinery, and one final chance to keep the caravan moving.
Rellan cannot become a warrior in time.
So he will have to survive as himself.
Weight. Rope. Leverage. Timing. Fear.
On Widow's Cut, they may be enough.
A complete standalone fantasy siege thriller from the world of Magic Lands. No prior reading required.
