A journey of visions, courage, and destiny in the heart of the Galayi people.Sunoya, a young shaman marked by both blessing and curse, receives a powerful vision: her people's sacred Cape of Eagle Feathers desecrated and bloodied. Chosen by the Immortals to uncover the meaning of this omen, she embarks on a journey to the Emerald Cavern, the spiritual center of her tribe.Guided by Su-Li, a reluctant buzzard spirit, Sunoya must confront her tribe's dangerous path, navigating ancient traditions, rising conflicts, and the heavy burden of her destiny. As her people inch closer to an unspeakable violation of their sacred laws, Sunoya must challenge leaders blinded by ambition and convince her tribe to seek peace instead of war. Will she alter the course of history, or will her vision become a reality that condemns them all? With vivid detail and timeless themes of courage and change, The Promised One invites readers into a richly imagined world where prophecy, politics, and faith collide."...an epic interpretation and retelling of ancient Native American myth and legend by a masterful storyteller." -Clyde Hall, Shoshone-Metis Tribe historian
