The Rinse Cycle: A Memoir is a true story of survival, family, addiction, street life, fatherhood, and redemption. Raised in Plainfield, New Jersey, K. H. Stevens came of age inside a world shaped by family loyalty, addiction, money, and the streets. From childhood exposure to the drug trade and the people who helped shape his understanding of survival, to years spent building a life outside the law, Stevens tells the story from the inside-without glorifying it.
His journey eventually reaches a crossroads where family, consequence, and the possibility of losing everything force a decision that changes the direction of his life. What follows is not simply an escape from the streets, but a reckoning with the cycles inherited from one generation to the next.
Grounded in personal memory and supported where applicable by publicly documented events, The Rinse Cycle is ultimately a memoir about breaking patterns, choosing family, and learning that survival means more than making it through-it means becoming something different.
