A tool does not feel guilt. Tarias is a soul seeker: a trained assassin at the disposal of the Koroark of Teruk. He is to do as he is ordered without protest, and never did he feel the need to dissent until he murdered the Koroark's daughter: heiress of Teruk.
Why does he feel guilt? The Soul Seeker: A Deserved Death takes place in the world brewed from the mind of R. R. Brikho. As soon as you start reading, the prose will take you to Aigerua: the elven capital city where the soul seekers use magic and intrigue to enact the will of their Emperor.
