During her years of practicing law, writer and lawyer Roberta M. Gubbins observed her fellow lawyers at work, at home and out in the world. She recorded her observations in the form of essays, describing the legal world with humor, passion and clarity. The result is an entertaining, informative and engaging visit into the world of lawyers and the law. The essays explore the language of lawyers, advocate for a National Lawyer Day, extol the wisdom of an acting course for the lawyer, describe how to use juror food choices to select the perfect jury and provide an answer to the question "Why don't you drive a cool garbage truck like Polly's dad?" asked by their long suffering children who don't understand the fascination with reading 'stuff' and then talking about it. Readers discover how a contract for marriage was created in the midst of a Big Ten football game and why the law is not boring. Reading the essays brings insight into the world of the law and the lawyers who occupy that world.
