An alien contacts three teenagers. The alien had crashed into a lough in Donegal Ireland, and its safety craft, that it has lain in for over a thousand years, is quickly surfacing. Each of the contacted teenagers is intelligent. The boys are lonely. Paul is fat. Conor's father is dead. Sarah is a computer genius. The Alien unites them by asking them to help it get to the top of Errigal, the highest mountain in Donegal. There, its parents are to come from a galaxy billions of miles away to take it home.
