This is the challenge posed to the reader by the eighteen stories of prayer in this little book. Louisa Vaughan was a Presbyterian missionary in China who lived in the present reality of God, and wrote this beautiful and engaging collection of stories testifying to that reality. Two subjects of faith recur in almost every story; that the believer can ask anything in the name of Jesus based on His promise in John 14:13-14, and that via prayer and repentance, genuine revival comes through a visitation of the Holy Spirit.

From the author's preface, "The aim of this little volume is to set forth as simply, and as concisely as possible, the incidents connected with my life and service for the Lord Jesus during my residence in China from October, 1896, to January, 1912. These stories as written were the result of the vision which the Lord Himself gave me concerning my witness-bearing amongst the Chinese people. And this testimony was to be one of Faith..."

Originally published in 1920, this Christian classic has been refreshed in order to be presented to a new audience. Since Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, these stories of God's faithfulness are as relevant and inspiring today as they were a century ago.
