About

I wrote Confessions of a SPED Teacher because no one warned me how challenging-and rewarding-this job would be. This book is filled with the real stories, truths, and lessons I wish someone had shared with me when I started working in special education.

I don't use big academic terms or pretend to have everything figured out. Instead, I walk you through what it's like to support students with disabilities in today's classrooms-from building IEPs, managing meetings, and working with other teachers to advocating for students and standing your ground when no one else does.
Whether you're new to the field or you've been doing this work for years, I hope my confessions give you a laugh, some fundamental strategies, and a reminder that you're not alone. This isn't a textbook-it's a conversation.

If you've ever felt overwhelmed, overlooked, or tired, this book is for you. Let's work together because our students and we deserve it.
