The euphoria in the state of Satu reaches nirvana levels when an old dictatorship is dislodged and a new leadership restores dignity and pride to the citizens. Yet the leaders soon prove to be choirs singing the same old tunes. Disillusionment sets in and people embrace a new voice of change, Mr. Kongo. Yet the state has propagandists, hit squads, secret service agents and all means of violence arraigned to eliminate any dissenting voice. Will Kongo survive survive all these devilish agents in order to finally proclaim a victory for freedom? The answer lie in the pages of this postcolonial novel, Devil Against Devil. Kamau Kabatha has taught at various schools and headed Kongasis and Bagaria secondary schools. He was born in Kiharu, Murang'a County of Kenya in 1959, the second in a family of eight children. He is currently a PHD student majoring in Ecocriticism at Laikipia University where also lectures in Literature and English. He is also a Bishop and Pastor at Messiah Celebration Center which he founded in 1996.
