He faced numerous challenges throughout his life, but he triumphed and eventually became instrumental in helping to create Silicon Valley. He built the computer division at Hewlett-Packard, and because of that and his additional work he was inducted into the Silicon Valley Engineering Hall of Fame in 2003.
