Laurie Preston was the kind of girl who was hard to find in class photos. Even her mother had trouble locating her. Her mother would look through the rows of smiling faces over and over, trying to spot her daughter.
Laurie grew up in Fairfax, Virginia. She lived in a big house on a clean street, and her mom and dad were nice people. Laurie was ten years old now, and she had only one good friend at school, Amy Galindo.
Laurie was saying this every time she handed out a flyer to one of her classmates. She could also hear Amy Galindo saying ―Laurie Preston for President! ‖ Laurie was nervous and scared of the reaction she would get from everyone at school since she had no friends, except one.
Running for President wasn't easy for Laurie, but she was brave and went for it. Laurie was always bullied and that never stopped her from going after her dreams. Laurie went after things she wanted and was very outgoing and pleasant to be around. Laurie chased her dreams and never stopped no matter how she was treated by the bullies.
