A collection of talks given by Ranjit Maharaj during his tour to the West in 2000 Shri Ranjit Maharaj (1913-2000), was a Realized Master who transformed many lives through his direct teachings and clear-cut understanding. He was devoted to his Master, Shri Siddharameshwar Maharaj (1888-1936), who he met in Mumbai when he was 12 years old. Shri Ranjit Maharaj often referred to his Master as "the greatest unknown saint of his time... had Siddharameshwar Maharaj spoken English, he would have wreaked havoc in the world, I tell you!" Ranjit Maharaj became a Master in 1983 when he was 71. He had no interest in being a Master but could not say 'No' when one of Siddharameshwar Maharaj's family members requested a mantra. He thought, "How can I say 'No' to the family who gave me my Guru?" From then on, he began to teach informally in his room and eventually, when more and more disciples came, he started giving formal talks and answering questions from seekers. The number of his disciples continued to grow and then as foreign disciples also started visiting him, he began giving discourses in English. Between 1996-2000, on the invitation of his foreign disciples, he gave talks in France, Germany, the US, the UK, Switzerland and Spain. Ranjit Maharaj had so much devotion for his Master that he would not "move an inch" from what his Master had taught.
