Ozma of Oz finds Dorothy and her new friend, the talking hen Billina, shipwrecked in the mysterious Land of Ev. After narrowly escaping the evil Princess Langwidere, Dorothy is reunited with familiar companions the Tin Woodsman, the Scarecrow, and Cowardly Lion on a quest to rescue the royal family of Ev from the clutches of the tyrannical Nome King. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its thirteen sequels have enchanted audiences since their publication in the early twentieth century. Ozma of Oz is the third novel in the Oz series, and was adapted into the film Return to Oz starring Fairuza Balk as Dorothy.
