Shadows by Markice Moore is a gripping supernatural thriller that plunges readers into a world where dark magic, hidden conspiracies, and demonic entities merge in a chilling narrative.
Evan Barnes, a dedicated investigative journalist, has just been honored for his career achievements. However, the recognition brings him no comfort. Haunted by an unsettling presence and plagued by strange memory lapses, Evan finds his life unraveling. His reality is further shattered when his daughter, Sophie, mysteriously disappears after leaving him desperate voicemails filled with fear and urgency. Her last known location points to Grady Memorial Hospital, but when Evan arrives, he's thrust into a nightmare he can't explain. The hospital, a place that should symbolize safety, is anything but-its hallways are filled with creeping shadows, and its staff offers no answers, only more questions.
In his search for Sophie, Evan discovers that his memories are not his own, and something darker is at play. A powerful network of witches operates within the hospital's walls, led by Dr. Nyame, a brilliant and charismatic surgeon who is more than just a healer-she is the High Witch, orchestrating rituals that draw power from fear and pain. The witches are not alone; they command entities known as Shadows, demonic forces that feed off human terror, manipulating the very fabric of reality to extend their reach.
Evan's only ally is Rachel, a former member of the coven who has turned against her sisters. Living a double life, Rachel risks everything to expose the witches' plans and protect Sophie. But infiltrating the witches' ranks comes at a cost-her every move is watched, and the more she interferes, the more powerful the Shadows become. As Rachel battles the darkness within and around her, she must confront her own past and the choices that have led her to this point.
