About
Charlotte Rae is undercover on her first real assignment for OMU, the Office of the Mystical and Uncanny, as a violinist in a chamber orchestra. She just has to keep Mr. Thornhill safe during his company's 50th celebration week and then she'll finally be promoted to detective. When Thornhill is cursed on the last night of the celebrations, Charlotte saves his life, barely. But who could be responsible? Snowed in at Thornhill's enchanted castle, her only ally in finding the murderer is a cunning thief turned bodyguard who has more secrets than his sly smile can hide.
Nem was hired for a simple job; make a new friend, get invited to an exclusive party, and then steal a priceless magical item. But he's thrown off his game by a stunning half fey playing a violin. When the moment comes to complete his job, he makes a critical mistake. Worse? The woman he was so captivated by is actually an OMU detective. His only hope is to lie, cheat, and flirt his way out of his problems until he can slip into his feline form and escape the castle. But what if it's not all as much of a lie as he thinks it is?
Charlotte and Nem couldn't be more different, but they will need to work together to solve the mystery and find the killer before Thornhill is gone for good. And before Charlotte realizes that Nem has been lying to her from the moment he met her. An attempted murder isn't the only mystery they have to solve, as they struggle to understand each other and their own hearts.
