The Girl Who Redeemed the American Dream begins in March of 2240, three months after the previous novel, Lightning Strikes the Emergent World, ends. Electra-C needed only that amount of time to reconstruct Lily Lloyd, Erika Kincaid's office manager and personal assistant, after the almost-human android sacrificed herself by leaping on top of a bomb to save Erika and her closest London associates.
