About

BRUCE ARGUES THAT EDEN WAS THE FIRST EARTHLY SANCTUARY THAT GOD CREATED TO RESTORE THE FORMLESS, VOID, AND DARK WORLD WE FIND IN GENESIS 1:2. THE FIVE RIVERS DESCRIBED IN GENESIS CHAPTER 2 ARE REDEMPTIVE AGENTS ORIGINALLY FLOWING FROM MOUNT MORIAH AS TYPES OF THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPLOYED TO RESTORE GOD'S CREATION BACK TO HIMSELF.
This book presents a unique geologic model for Genesis chapter 2, where, like Ezekiel chapter 47, Eden's first river flows down from Mount Moriah into the Great Rift and then underground north and south to the four headwaters of the other Edenic rivers. They would have then exploded as geothermal springs, as described in Genesis 2:6. Thus, the very ground that saw the first sin and mankind's loss of dominion would become the very place of redemption and restoration. This Eden in Israel model reshapes our understanding of the Scriptures' text as the types and shadows we find in Eden become pregnant with revelation throughout the rest of God's story of redemption.
